How to setup Static Routes on your TP Link Router

Introduction

This article explains how to setup Static Routes on your TP Link Router. Scroll down through the guide to find the correct Model of your Router. 

TD Models

  1. Open your web browser and enter the following in your address bar, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or TPLinklogin.net.

    If you are having issues getting to your router sign in page please read this guide for more help.

  2. Type the username and password in the login page, the default username and password are:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  3. Click on Advanced Setup.
  4. Select Routing.
  5. Click Add route.
  6. Enter the following:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.8.8
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your router IP address)
    Metric: 2
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Add route.
  9. Enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.4.4
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your routers IP address)
    Metric: 2
  10. Click Save.

Archer C and Archer V Models

  1. Open your web browser and enter the following in your address bar, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or TPLinklogin.net.

  2. Type the username and password in the login page, the default username and password are:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  3. Click on Advanced then Advanced Routing.
  4. Click on Add New and enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.8.8
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your router IP address)
  5. Click on Save.
  6. Click on Add and enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.4.4
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your routers IP address)
  7. Click on Save.

Archer D Models

  1. Open your web browser and enter the following in your address bar, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or TPLinklogin.net.

  2. Type the username and password in the login page, the default username and password are:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  3. Click on Route Settings then Static Route.
  4. Click on Add New and enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.8.8
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your router IP address)
  5. Click on Save to apply the changes.
  6. Click on Add New and enter the following information
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.4.4
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your routers IP address)
  7. Click Save to apply the changes.

TL Models

  1. Open your web browser and enter the following in your address bar, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or TPLinklogin.net.

  2. Type the username and password in the login page, the default username and password are:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  3. Click on Advanced Routing.
  4. Click on Add New and enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.8.8
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your routers IP address)
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
  6. Click on Add New and enter the following information:
    Destination IP Address: 8.8.4.4
    IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway IP Address: (Your routers IP address)
  7. Click on Save to apply the changes.
