How to setup Static Routes on DD-WRT Router

Introduction

This article explains how to setup Static Routes on your DD-WRT Router.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Navigate to your router's login page.

    Note: If you are not sure how to find your router's IP address to login, please read this guide.

  2. Next, log in to your router. The default login and password are:
    username: route OR admin
    password: admin 
  3. Once you are logged in, click on Advanced Routing.
  4. Input the following:

    Name: GoogleDNS1
    Destination LAN NET: 8.8.8.8
    Metric: 2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 127.0.0.1
    Interface: LAN 
  5. Click on Save then Apply Settings
  6. Repeat the steps for Google's second DNS:
    Name: GoogleDNS2
    Destination LAN NET: 8.8.4.4
    Metric: 2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 127.0.0.1
    Interface: LAN 
  7. Once the static routes have been added click Save Settings.
